Vehicle Cycle Analysis:
One of the main advantages of GT-Cool over general purpose fluid network analysis programs is the ease with which complete engine/vehicle cooling system models can be simulated. The methodology is as follows:
   
INPUTS:

Vehicle characteristics (mass, drag coefficient, tire sizes, etc.)
Transmission gear ratios and upshift/downshift points
Engine maps of heat rejection vs. engine speed & BMEP
Vehicle motion prescribed
   
OUTPUTS:

Vehicle speed integrated/differentiated to calculate distance traveled and   acceleration
Vehicle inertias, acceleration and gear ratio used to calculate engine speed &   BMEP
Map lookup of coolant heat rejection yields heat load to the engine block
